Scheduled Maintenance 7/20 11:45pm PDT

Scheduled maintenance period Saturday 7/20/2019 11:45pm Pacific time for a period of approximately 4-5 hours.

We will be upgrading and applying security patches for the database server.  This will cause downtime for all stores and the store management portal.   We expect the maintenance to last from 4-5 hours.  A maintenance message will be shown while the sites are unavailable.

Email will continue to operate as normal during the maintenance.

November 9, 2018

Scheduled maintenance period Saturday 11/10/18 9:00pm – 10:30pm Pacific time.

We will be optimizing the server hardware for the database server this Saturday evening.  This will cause downtime for all stores and the management portal of between 30-90 minutes.  A maintenance message will be shown during the downtime.

When the database maintenance is complete further server hardware optimizations will be done on the email server.  The email server maintenance period will result in downtime for the email server ONLY.  Merchants will be unable to login and view or send email during this time frame.  Any email received during the downtime will be delivered shortly after email service is restored.

Scheduled Maintenance 4/27 9:00pm PST

Scheduled maintenance period Wednesday 4/27 9:00 pm – 11:00 pm Pacific time for email server hardware upgrades and migration.

 

During the maintenance window there will be expected email downtime of between 30-60 minutes.  During the email downtime users will be unable to login, retrieve or send email.  Incoming emails will be stored in our backup email server and delivered to your inbox shortly after the maintenance is complete.

 

After the email server maintenance is completed, there will be a  short, 5-10 minute scheduled maintenance for the sites and manage portal.  A maintenance message will be displayed to users when the sites and manage portal are not available.

Scheduled maintenance period Friday 4/15 9:00 pm – 2:00 am Pacific time for server hardware upgrades and migration.

During the maintenance window there will be expected downtime of between 30-60 minutes during which a maintenance message will be shown in place of the sites. For the remainder of the maintenance period sites will be running but with expected slower then normal response times.

The manage portal and ftp servers will be set to maintenance mode during maintenance and store owners will be unable to login or make changes to sites.

Email will operate as normal during maintenance.

If your store uses a custom domain name, for instance http://www.mystore.com the following instructions apply to you.
If your store is only available at a name like http://mystore.storesecured.com or http://mystore.easystorecreator.com the below information does NOT apply.

In order to take full advantage of the planned upgrades and for a more seamless transition we urge all customers who are currently using Rackspace nameservers to update your domain nameservers.

If your current domain nameservers are:
NS.RACKSPACE.COM
NS2.RACKSPACE.COM

Change the domain nameservers to:
JEFF.NS.CLOUDFLARE.COM
UMA.NS.CLOUDFLARE.COM

ONLY the two CloudFlare name servers should be present. All other nameservers must be removed.

Your website will not experience any downtime when you change your nameservers.

How do I change nameservers?

Nameservers can be changed at your domain name registrar, ie the company who you pay your yearly domain name fee to. Some examples of domain name registrars are network solutions and godaddy.

Why do I need to do this?
==================================
We are transitioning all merchants who use the Rackspace DNS to Cloudflare DNS for their advanced zone apex management and traffic protection. The Rackspace DNS is older and does not provide the necessary support and automated management. If the change is NOT made your site WILL continue to function however we will be unable to automatically route traffic to the best available server.

What is CloudFlare?

CloudFlare offers regular DNS services along with traffic acceleration, DDOS protection and a worldwide CDN. As part of the DNS switch you will later be able to activate CloudFlare’s advanced features on your site. You can read more about Cloudflare at

Scheduled maintenance period Friday 11/20 9:00 pm – 10:00 pm PST for SSL certificate renewal and SSL security upgrades.

During the maintenance window there will be expected downtime of between 10 – 20 minutes for each service, ie mail, stores, admin, ftp etc, while the server restarts and new SSL certificates are installed and the servers are rebooted.

Email Server Scheduled Maintenance 5/17 9:30-10:30pm

The scheduled maintenance period has been completed. The email software is updated and the email service is now working as normal.

Scheduled maintenance period Sunday 5/17 9:30 pm – 10:30 pm PDT for email server software upgrades.

During the maintenance window there will be expected downtime of between 30-60 minutes for email service. The email service may periodically go down and back up again during this time as the software is upgraded and the server is restarted. Note that any emails received during this time will be delivered once the service upgrade is completed.

The Smartermail email program will be upgraded to resolve display issues in the web email with more recent versions of Firefox.

Scheduled maintenance period Monday 9/1 8:30 pm – 9:30 pm PDT for server operating system updates.

 

During the maintenance window there will be expected downtime of between 5 – 15 minutes for each service.  We expect each service, ie mail, stores, admin, ftp etc to go through a brief outage period of approximately 5 mins while the server restarts and after which service will be restored.

Scheduled Maintenance 5/17 7:30pm

May 15, 2014

Scheduled maintenance period Saturday 5/17 7:30pm-8:30pm PST for server hardware upgrades.

 

During the maintenance window there will be expected downtime of between 15 minutes – 30 minutes during which the mail, ftp and manage sections of the admin interface will NOT be accessible.  All services except email will be restored after the initial 15-30 minute downtime.  The email maintenance will take 15-30 additional minutes to complete during which email will be unavailable.  All emails will be queued and delivered when email service is restored.

 

All stores will operate as normal except that automatic outgoing emails will be delayed slightly.

Maintenance has been completed and all services including email are online.
