StoreSecured Temporary Downtime

May 27, 2015

Update 9:10am
The denial of service attack has now stopped and the extra restrictions we had in place are now removed. We are continuing to monitor the situation with our web hosting provider and will put back the restrictions again if the attack begins again to keep all sites running.

Update 6:35am
The StoreSecured service is experiencing a small denial of service attack. As of approximately 6:30am our hosting company has been able to mitigate the attack so that the websites can continue to run. However, we are currently running in a modified state and any semi-suspicious traffic will be blocked during the attack to ensure that all services continue running. Any IP generating over 10 connections will be temporarily blocked because this is the behavior we are seeing from attackers, ie many many connections from a single IP.

We will continue to monitor the situation closely and will remove these restrictions once the attack is no longer in process. Note that there are no security concerns this is a process to try and take the service down, ie overwhelm it with connections and not to break in.

Update 6:00am
We are currently experiencing a low level DOS attack. All sites and services are currently down due to a large amount of traffic overwhelming the server. Our hosting company is working on the issue at the moment and they expect a resolution shortly.

As soon as we have further information it will be posted here. It is interesting to note that 2 of the large payment processing vendors were attacked earlier this week, ie BluePay first and then yesterday.

Important Information for BluePay users

May 26, 2015

The following is important only to our users who utilize the BluePay payment gateway.

Starting 5/20 transactions to BluePay were affected by a BluePay DDOS attack that caused BluePay to make some changes to their website to stop the attack. These changes caused our transaction processing with BluePay to break. Transactions were still sent to BluePay but all transactions were met with errors. BluePay has since resolved the issue and transactions are now processing as of approximately 12:30pm Pacific time today 5/26.

We recommend comparing transactions in your BluePay gateway account to your StoreSecured account during this time. There may be charges which BluePay approved but StoreSecured is not aware of. These would show as abandoned orders which you can manually complete. There may also be possible double charges if a customer tried many times to complete an order. Currently Down

May 26, 2015 is currently experiencing transaction processing issues and no transactions are being accepted by them at this time.

Please note that this is an issue and not a StoreSecured issue. has posted on their status page at and also on their twitter page that they are aware of the issue and are investigating.

Currently all transactions to are returning errors.

We recommend temporarily setting your gateway to None to manually capture credit card numbers if you are using the payment gateway until is able to resolve their issues.

This issue appears to have been on and off since approximately 12:30pm Pacific time today. We recommend double checking any orders done during this time.

If you have questions about your account or the status of this issue please refer to the status page or call the support line.
