But isnt the cart PCI Compliant already?

Yes, StoreSecured is PCI Compliant.

 

So if StoreSecured is compliant already why do I need to be compliant also?

As your shopping cart vendor StoreSecured is compliant however this does NOT mean that you do not need to perform your own scans in order for you to be pci compliant.  PCI Compliance means that not only do you use PCI Compliant vendors but you also are compliant yourself.

Who should use this service?

Many gateways are now requiring their clients to use a particular PCI Scanning company to verify your pci compliance.  If you are already using a pci compliance scan through your gateway then you do not need another scan.  However if your gateway is requiring proof of compliance and you do not yet have a scan being done of your website then the ControlScan product is perfect for you.

What is PCI?

The Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) is a set of requirements designed to ensure that ALL companies that process, store or transmit credit card information maintain a secure environment.  Essentially any merchant that has a Merchant ID (MID).

To whom does PCI apply?

PCI applies to ALL organizations or merchants, regardless of size or number of transactions, that accepts, transmits or stores any cardholder data. Said another way, if any customer of that organization ever pays the merchant directly using a credit card or debit card, then the PCI DSS requirements apply.

Please note that the Amazon Checkout integration does have certain limitations due to differences in Amazon Checkouts shipping and tax calculations etc.  Please read and understand the limitations before activating Amazon Checkout in your store.  This is a third party checkout method similar to PayPal Express Checkout and Google Checkout  and will show up on your view cart page and not at the final checkout screen.

Production environment update

Due to the corporate quarterly update to the FedEx production environment, there will be a temporary service interruption on Saturday, June 13, 2009 from 9 p.m. CDT to 3 a.m. CDT Sunday, June 14, 2009. Customers using FedEx Web Services, FedEx Ship Manager® API and FedEx Ship Manager® Direct solutions will be unable to process transactions within the production environment.

Statistics Delay for June

An error has been detected in the statistics compilation over the last few days.  Because of this the statistics are currently being recompiled starting with June 1st.  If you pull up your statistics report you may see that it is currently empty for the month of June.  Please note that statistics are currently in the process of being computed and should be available again by the end of the day today.

Statistics URL Changed

Please note that the statistics url for some sites has changed.  In order to make this consistant for everyone we will now be using your secure url path for the statistics report.  If old URL may have looked something like http://mysitename.easystorecreator.com/logs/stats.pl, and your new url will look like http://mysitename.storesecured.com/logs/stats.pl, note the difference is the .storesecured.com versus .easystorecreator.com in the url path.

All links from the store manager to the statistics pages have been updated.  However if you have bookmarked the statistics page you may need to update your bookmarked page with the new URL.  To navigate to the statististics page please login to your store and then select Statistics–>Report from the top menu.

This change does not affect at all what your customers see.  This is a reporting only change.
